Jones County Deputies Arrest Two After Search Warrants Uncover Drugs and Firearms

Jones County, GA — Two people are in custody following the execution of search warrants connected to an aggravated assault investigation, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators carried out the warrants on March 4 at two separate residences as part of the ongoing case.

The first search warrant was served at a home on Bethune Avenue with assistance from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. During the operation, deputies arrested Recardo Wimes Jr., who was charged with aggravated assault. Investigators also discovered that Wimes was in possession of a stolen firearm.

The second search warrant was executed at a residence on Crestwood Drive in Jones County. Devin Deloach was taken into custody at that location and initially charged with making false statements.

During the search of the property, investigators located what authorities described as a felony amount of marijuana along with a 9mm handgun. As a result, Deloach now faces additional charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Both suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office thanked investigators and deputies involved in the case, along with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office for assisting with the operation.
