Man Arrested After Early Morning Savannah Shooting Leaves Victim Seriously Injured

Savannah, GA — Savannah Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that left one person seriously injured early Thursday morning.

According to the Savannah Police Department, officers responded around 6:20 a.m. on March 5, 2026, to reports of a shooting in the 6000 block of Damascus Road.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was treated at the scene before being transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for further medical care.

Police say the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Investigators were able to identify and locate the suspect using Flock Safety camera technology. With assistance from the Chatham County Police Department, officers took 44-year-old Brian Williams into custody later that same day.

Williams has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, cruelty to children, and false imprisonment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
