Man Arrested After Burglary at Downtown Macon Clothing Store

Macon, GA — A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputy has arrested a suspect in connection with the burglary of a downtown Macon clothing store early Sunday morning.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:20 a.m. on March 8, 2026, to a burglary alarm at On Time Fashion, located at 412 Third Street.

When a deputy arrived at the scene, they discovered a damaged window at the front of the business. A search of the store showed that no one was inside, but merchandise had been stolen.

During the investigation, deputies worked with the Strategic Information Center and located a person of interest near Terminal Station. The individual was seen walking north on Fifth Street carrying a backpack and a bag over his shoulder.

Deputies made contact with the man, who was identified as 60-year-old Kenneth Lee Johnson. Authorities said Johnson was found in possession of several items that had been stolen from the store.

Johnson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The recovered merchandise was returned to the business.

Johnson has been charged with felony first-degree burglary and is currently being held without bond.
