Walker County Man Found Shot to Death; Suspect Arrested in Chattanooga

ROSSVILLE, Ga. — A 38-year-old Walker County man was found dead from a gunshot wound after deputies conducted a welfare check at his home, authorities said.

According to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson, deputies responded Monday afternoon, March 2, 2026, to a residence on Gilbert Street in Rossville to check on the welfare of the male occupant. Inside the home, deputies discovered Robin Fredale Sutton, 38, deceased.

Detectives with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate the death.

Following investigative leads early Tuesday morning, authorities were directed to a residence at 210 S. Howell Avenue in Chattanooga, Tennessee. There, Jermaine Matthew Jackson, 28, was arrested on a Tennessee warrant and transported to the East Ridge Police Department for questioning in Sutton’s death.

At approximately noon Tuesday, March 3, 2026, a Walker County warrant was obtained charging Jackson with Murder in connection with Sutton’s death.

Jackson is currently being held in the Hamilton County, Tennessee jail and is expected to be extradited to Walker County, according to Sheriff Wilson. The motive for the killing remains unknown.

Sheriff Wilson said the arrest was the result of coordinated efforts between the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Chattanooga Police Department.
