Macon Man Arrested for Murder in Florence Avenue Death Investigation
MACON, Ga. — A suspect has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting in Macon earlier this week on Florence Avenue, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
On February 27, 2026, at approximately 9:11 a.m., members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, assisted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, took 31-year-old Jeremi Devontrey Hill of Macon into custody at a residence in Americus, Georgia.
Hill was wanted in connection with the death of Shavis Adams, which occurred on February 21, 2026. Following his arrest, Hill was transported back to Bibb County and taken to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning.
After further investigation, Hill was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and formally charged with Murder. He is currently being held without bond.
Sheriff David J. Davis addressed the arrest, stating:
“With the arrest of Jeremi Hill, someone has been held to account for each one of the senseless murders this week. We have been relentless in our efforts to bring justice for each of these victims. To be clear, guns should never be used to settle petty arguments. But when they are, we will be coming for you.”
Authorities say the investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
