Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Wednesday night along Pio Nono Avenue.

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Pio Nono Avenue after the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center received a call at approximately 7:24 p.m. reporting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

When deputies arrived, they found 36-year-old Teairka Brown unresponsive in the roadway. Investigators said Brown had been struck while attempting to cross the street. The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.

Emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but Brown died at the scene. Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced her deceased, and next of kin have been notified.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
