Coffee County Man Arrested After Chase, Deputies Seize Meth, Cocaine and Gun
COFFEE COUNTY, Georgia – A man is facing multiple felony charges following a drug investigation and brief vehicle pursuit in Coffee County.
According to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were conducting an investigation into suspected illegal drug activity in the area of North Madison Avenue on February 10, 2026. During the operation, officers identified a vehicle believed to be operated by Micheal Lamar Weldon and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Authorities said Weldon initially pulled over but then fled at a high rate of speed. Deputies began a pursuit but safely terminated it shortly after. Weldon was later taken into custody without further incident.
As part of the investigation, deputies seized suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and other illegal substances. A handgun was also recovered.
Weldon was charged with multiple felony drug offenses, including possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as felony fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement.
He was transported to the Coffee County Jail and remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
