Multi-Agency Drug Raid in Kingsland Nets Narcotics, Firearms; One Arrested
CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — A coordinated law enforcement operation in Kingsland on Feb. 12, 2026, resulted in the seizure of multiple illegal narcotics and firearms and the arrest of a suspected drug trafficker.
At approximately 9:10 a.m., the Joint Camden Action Team, made up of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Kingsland Police Department, and St. Marys Police Department, executed a no-knock search warrant at a home on West Lilly Street.
Investigators observed the target of the investigation, John Braxton, leaving the residence just prior to entry and conducted a traffic stop while other officers secured and searched the property.
Inside the home, authorities reported finding cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, MDMA, and marijuana. Investigators also recovered scales, packaging materials, and glassware consistent with narcotics distribution.
Five firearms were seized during the search, including rifles equipped with suppressors and multiple handguns. Officials said the firearms were checked and were not reported stolen. A vehicle connected to the investigation was also confiscated.
Because the residence is located near a childcare facility and a private academy, enhanced charges apply under Georgia law.
Braxton was arrested and faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to drug trafficking, possession with intent to distribute, firearm offenses, and possession of drug-related objects.
Sheriff Kevin Chaney said the operation reflects proactive enforcement efforts in the county.
“This operation is a direct result of strong teamwork and proactive policing,” Chaney said. “When drugs and illegal weapons show up in our neighborhoods, we respond swiftly and decisively.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
