Clarence Matthew Ivey

Monroe, GA – February 16, 2026 – A Walton County jury on Monday found Clarence Matthew Ivey, 47, guilty on a total of 14 felony counts involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of a child, culminating in a sentence of life in prison followed by 224 years.

The jury deliberated and returned guilty verdicts on the following charges:

  • 3 counts of Aggravated Child Molestation
  • 4 counts of Child Molestation
  • 2 counts of Statutory Rape
  • 2 counts of Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes
  • 2 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children
  • 1 count of Possession of Methamphetamine

According to evidence presented during the trial, Ivey committed these offenses over a period spanning late 2019 through mid-2020, with multiple incidents occurring during that timeframe.

Following the guilty verdicts, the court immediately proceeded to a sentencing hearing. After hearing testimony and arguments from both the prosecution and the defense, Superior Court Judge [name pending release] imposed the maximum possible punishment: life imprisonment plus an additional 224 years to be served consecutively.

“This lengthy sentence ensures that Clarence Matthew Ivey will never again have the opportunity to harm a child,” said prosecutors. “The jury’s verdict and the court’s sentence reflect the severity and duration of his crimes against a vulnerable victim.”

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Dave Williamson, with support from Victim Services Director Kim Kelly, Investigator Charles Cook, Victim Advocate Suzanna Maulfair, and Legal Assistant Lisa Knight.

The investigation was led by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. The victim received comprehensive support and services through A Child’s Voice Child Advocacy Center, Piedmont Walton, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
