Macon Man Arrested After Deputies Find Him on Roof During Business Burglary
MACON, Georgia – A 53-year-old Macon man is in custody after deputies responded to a burglar alarm and found him on the roof of a commercial business early Thursday morning, authorities said.
The call came into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 6:09 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to Thunderbird Package at 2585 Emery Highway after a witness reported seeing an unknown male inside the business.
When deputies arrived, the doors were secure, but a suspect was later located on the roof of the building. He was taken into custody without incident.
Criminal Investigation Division Property Investigators responded to assist. Deputies accessed the roof and located a bag in the suspect’s possession containing an undisclosed amount of cash, merchandise taken from the business and tools.
The suspect was identified as Rodney Bernard Hogan, 53, of Macon. He was transported to the Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation and later booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Hogan is charged with Felony Second Degree Burglary and Probation Violation. He is being held without bond.
