Georgia Man Sentenced to Life for Two Counts of Aggravated Sodomy
DALLAS, Georgia – A Dallas, Georgia man has been sentenced to life in prison after a jury convicted him of two counts of aggravated sodomy, according to the Paulding Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
District Attorney Robert S. Lane announced that on Feb. 3, 2026, Superior Court Judge T. David Lyles sentenced Donald Lynd Brown, 46, to life imprisonment following his conviction.
A Paulding County jury found Brown guilty on Dec. 12, 2025, of two counts of aggravated sodomy under Georgia law. The charges stem from a sexual assault reported on Feb. 1, 2022, when a 20-year-old woman told police that Brown, identified as her child’s paternal grandfather, had assaulted her.
The investigation was conducted by the Dallas Police Department, which launched the case after receiving the victim’s report.
Lane said the conviction underscores the seriousness of the crimes and the importance of accountability. “The crimes of rape and aggravated sodomy inflict some of the deepest and most lasting harm imaginable,” he said. “This conviction makes clear that those who prey on the innocent will face the full weight of justice.”
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Christina Morgan-Young and Ashley McDonald with the Paulding Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
