CARROLL COUNTY, GA – On January 12, 2026, deputies responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the 100 block of Villa Forest Drive in Villa Rica. The victim, later identified as Brittany Dutton, was rushed to Tanner Medical Center for treatment. Despite medical efforts, Dutton succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators determined the vehicle involved in the deadly crash was driven by Mark Enriquez, with Kourtney Robinson, 30, of Franklin, Georgia, riding as a passenger. As the investigation unfolded, deputies uncovered that the incident stemmed from a criminal conspiracy that began before the fatal collision.

According to investigators, Enriquez and Robinson had conspired to rob an individual of prescription medication and an iPad. After obtaining the stolen items, the suspects fled the area in a vehicle. During their escape, Brittany Dutton was struck and fatally injured. Authorities later located the suspect vehicle concealed at a residence off Center Point Road.

Enriquez was initially charged with Homicide by Vehicle, Aggravated Assault, and Reckless Driving. However, as additional evidence was developed, investigators expanded the case significantly.

Both Mark Enriquez and Kourtney Robinson, who was taken into custody last night, are now charged with Felony Murder, Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony, and Felony Tampering with Evidence. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the full scope of events leading up to the deadly hit-and-run.
