GBI Arrests Vidalia Man In Fatal Shooting Of Own Brother In Twin City

TWIN CITY, Ga. – A Vidalia man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of his brother following an argument Monday morning in Emanuel County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

GBI agents arrested 44-year-old LaMarkius Tiwaun White of Vidalia and charged him with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony in the death of 35-year-old LaCorey White of Twin City.

Preliminary information indicates the shooting occurred around 10:00 a.m. on January 26, 2026, at a residence in the 400 block of 2nd Street in the Stillmore community of Twin City. Investigators said the two men, who are brothers, were involved in an argument when LaMarkius White shot LaCorey White.

LaCorey White was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Pooler.

LaMarkius White was taken into custody and booked into the Emanuel County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
