Bibb County Deputy Arrests Two After Unresponsive Persons Call Leads To Drug And Firearm Charges
MACON, Ga. – Two suspects were taken into custody on multiple drug- and weapon-related charges after a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy responded to a report of unresponsive individuals inside a vehicle over the weekend.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division Deputy Shane Benton was dispatched to Vineville Avenue following a call about a male and female who were unresponsive inside a truck. Both individuals received medical attention at the scene before being transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
During the investigation, deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. Authorities reported finding two handguns, knives, syringes, glass pipes, drug paraphernalia, and plastic bags containing suspected heroin and other unidentified narcotics. Investigators also located items believed to be used to conceal the identification of the vehicle.
As a result, the suspects are facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of controlled substances classified as Schedule I or Schedule II narcotics, possession or use of drug-related objects, acquiring a license plate to conceal the identity of a motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempted commission of certain felonies.
