Man Arrested After Domestic Shooting in Lawrenceville, Victim Hospitalized

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a reported shooting on January 20, 2026, in the 1900 block of Patterson Circle in Lawrenceville.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as Diego Romero Gonzalez, suffering from a gunshot wound. Gonzalez was transported to a local hospital, where he was last reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators identified Valentine Gonzalez Reyes, 40, as the shooter. Reyes was located at the scene and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. No bond information has been set yet.

Police say the shooting appears to be an isolated, domestic-related incident. There is no ongoing threat to the public, and no additional suspects are being sought.
