Elderly Woman Found Dead At Albany Library, Death Ruled Hypothermia

ALBANY Georgia – Albany police are investigating the death of a woman found outside the Tallulah Massey Library earlier this week.

On January 19, 2026, officers responded around 10:36 a.m. to the Tallulah Massey Library, located at 2004 Stratford Drive, after receiving a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, officers identified the woman as Dawn Love, a 71-year-old white female.

An autopsy was conducted on January 20, 2026, which determined that Love’s cause of death was hypothermia. Authorities say there are no signs of foul play, and the death is not considered suspicious.

Investigators are currently working to locate Love’s next of kin to notify them of her passing.
