Toombs County Man Arrested for Child Porn After NCMEC Flags Online Activity
YONS, GA – A 33-year-old Lyons man is in custody following a seven-month investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Jared Anthony Collins was arrested and charged on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children.
The investigation began in June 2025 when the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit received a Cyber Tipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Digital Forensics and Arrest
The NCMEC report flagged Collins’ online activity, specifically regarding the possible possession and distribution of CSAM. Over several months, GBI investigators used digital forensics to trace the activity back to Collins’ residence in Toombs County.
- Booking: Collins was arrested without incident and booked into the Toombs County Jail.
- Agency Collaboration: The Toombs County Sheriff’s Office provided critical local support during the final stages of the investigation and the execution of the arrest warrant.
The Role of the ICAC Task Force
This case is part of a broader effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which is housed within the GBI. The task force was created by the U.S. Department of Justice to address the rising volume of children using the internet and the corresponding increase in predatory activity.
Anyone with information about other cases of child exploitation is asked to contact the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit at 404-270-8870 or report via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline at Cybertipline.org.
