19-Year-Old Charged in Deadly Downtown Atlanta Shooting
ATLANTA, GA – A 19-year-old man is facing a murder charge following a broad-daylight shooting in the heart of downtown Atlanta last week.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in the 130 block of Luckie St. SW. Officers from Atlanta Police Zone 5 arrived at the scene around 11:13 a.m. to find a 19-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Arrest and Charges
Officers quickly detained a person of interest at the scene. Following an investigation by the APD Homicide Unit, the suspect was identified as Anthony Lane, 19.
Lane was booked into the Fulton County Jail and faces the following charges:
- Murder
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
