Drug Investigation Nets Large Quantities of MDMA, Cocaine, and Firearms in Camden County
CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. – A months-long narcotics investigation has led to the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs and firearms at two homes in St. Marys, according to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
The Joint Camden Action Team, known as JCAT, wrapped up a three-month investigation into the distribution of cocaine, ecstasy, and synthetic cathinones commonly referred to as “Molly” within Camden County. Investigators identified Daniel Albertie and Herchel Riddle as key figures in what authorities say was an ongoing drug distribution operation.

With assistance from the Camden County District Attorney’s Office, investigators obtained search warrants and carried them out on January 8, 2026, at two separate residences in St. Marys.
At a home in the Cynthia Lane area of the Colerain Oaks Trailer Park, investigators seized nearly one kilogram of ecstasy, along with smaller amounts of cocaine and more than 75 grams of dimethylpentylone, a synthetic stimulant often sold as Molly. A Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun was also recovered. Authorities identified Herchel Riddle as the suspect connected to that location.
At a second residence on Fairfield Drive inside Crooked River Plantation, investigators found additional drugs, including more than 32 grams of ecstasy, nearly 28 grams of cocaine, over 155 grams of dimethylpentylone, and a small amount of marijuana. A Taurus 9mm handgun was also seized. Daniel Albertie was identified as the suspect associated with that residence.
Sheriff Chaney said the investigation highlights the persistence required to dismantle drug operations in the community.
“Investigations like this take time, coordination, and a tremendous amount of dedication from our investigators,” Chaney said. “Removing these drugs and firearms from our community is a significant step toward keeping our citizens safe and sends a clear message that drug distribution will not be tolerated in Camden County.”
The operation was carried out by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office Joint Camden Action Team in coordination with the Kingsland Police Department and the St. Marys Police Department. Officials say the investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed as investigators continue their work.
