Stephens County Deputies Arrest Fugitive After Tip Leads to Martin Residence
STEPHENS COUNTY, GA – On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit conducted a follow-up investigation at a residence on Waters Edge Drive in Martin, Georgia. During the operation, deputies located and arrested 58-year-old Tracy Holbrook of Carnesville, a wanted fugitive.

Holbrook had been wanted by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office since September 2024, after fleeing deputies during a vehicle pursuit. Investigators received an anonymous tip through the SCSO mobile app on January 6, 2026, providing information about his possible location.
Taken Into Custody Without Incident
At approximately 5:35 p.m. on January 7, CSU deputies found Holbrook hiding beneath a truck on the property. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Stephens County Jail.
Outstanding Charges in Stephens County
Holbrook was wanted on multiple charges, including:
- Two counts of Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
- Possession and Use of Drug-Related Objects
- Prescription Drugs Not in Original Containers
- Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement
- Failure to Maintain Lane
- Speeding in Excess of State and Zone Limits
- Removing or Affixing a License Plate with Intent to Conceal or Misrepresent
During the arrest, deputies also discovered a firearm near Holbrook. As a result, he has been additionally charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Additional Wanted Status
Authorities confirmed Holbrook is also wanted out of Franklin County, Georgia, on similar charges.
Holbrook remains in the Stephens County Jail and is awaiting a bond hearing before a magistrate court judge.
