Gwinnett Police Release Video, Details of Domino Game Stabbing and K9 Arrest

Gwinnett County Police have released new information and video footage related to a stabbing that occurred late last year during a dominoes game.

On November 29, 2025, officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing involving Rigoberto Lopez-Castro. Investigators say Lopez-Castro was stabbed by Danilo Lopez-Bardales during an argument while the two were playing dominoes.

When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled. MPO Scott (#2406) obtained a description of the suspect and immediately broadcast the information to other responding units. Scott then began providing lifesaving aid to the victim, applying a tourniquet until paramedics arrived.

Gwinnett County Police K9 units were called in to assist with the search. Multiple teams responded, including MPO Scully (#2407) and her K9 partner, Titan. K9 Titan was deployed and successfully tracked the suspect to a nearby residence, where Danilo Lopez-Bardales was found hiding behind a shed.

Lopez-Bardales was taken into custody without further incident. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, and obstruction.

Police also noted that MPO Scully was recently recognized as the Gwinnett Police Department’s first female K9 handler, marking a milestone for the department following her role in the arrest.
