Gwinnett Police Release Video of December Burglary Suspect Arrest
The Gwinnett County Police Department has released video footage of an incident that occurred on December 15, 2025, involving the arrest of burglary suspect Cedric Johnson.
Police responded to a reported burglary in progress, where the victim reported a man had broken a window to gain entry into the home and provided a description of the suspect.
When MPO J. Umana (#2311) arrived, he spotted a male matching the description outside the residence. As he attempted to make contact, the suspect, later identified as Cedric Johnson, fled on foot. While Umana relayed Johnson’s movements over the radio, Johnson ran directly in front of Officer M. Green’s patrol vehicle, which was responding to assist.
Johnson continued running, jumped over a guardrail, and entered a bushy area, where he was apprehended without further incident.
Johnson was charged with:
- Burglary in the First Degree
- Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree
- Simple Assault by Placing Another in Fear
- Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement
- Pedestrian Unsafely Entering a Roadway
