Savannah Police Arrest Man in Self-Defense Shooting on Louisville Road

SAVANNAH, GA – The Savannah Police Department has arrested a man following a January 2nd shooting in the 1000 block of Louisville Road.

Officers responded around 5:47 p.m. to a ShotSpotter alert and encountered an adult male, later identified as Alvin DuBois, leaving the scene. DuBois sustained a minor graze wound to his arm and declined transport to a hospital after receiving treatment from EMS.

Investigation revealed that DuBois had been assaulting a female, who fired a weapon to defend herself. The female then called 911 to report the incident. Police determined the shooting was in self-defense.

DuBois was arrested and charged with battery. The investigation remains ongoing.
