Macon Public Relations Specialist Named a Rising Star PR Daily’s Top Women in Communications Awards

Edna Adams, Public Relations Specialist in the Office of Communications for Macon-Bibb County, was recently recognized as a Rising Star in PR Daily’s prestigious Top Women in Communications awards program for her outstanding contributions to local government communications.

“I’m so honored to receive this recognition for the work I’ve done, but I’m even more honored to do the work for Macon-Bibb County,” Adams shared. “The people I work with really make this all so fun and rewarding.”

Mayor Lester Miller praised Adams’ impact, stating, “Edna has been at the leading edge of changing local government communications… she tackles it all with depth of thought, dedication, and, best of all, creativity.”

Adams’ role includes publishing “The Hub” each week, planning major events, and coordinating press conferences, groundbreakings, and celebrations. She has organized numerous high-profile events, from unique announcements like setting buildings on fire for the Fire Department to opening a pickleball facility with a countdown.

Chief Communications Officer Chris Floore added, “What sets Edna apart is her ability to balance all the requirements of her role while pushing the envelope on creativity in communications.”

Adams has also been instrumental in growing the Hispanic Heritage Festival, expanding it into one of the county’s largest cultural events.
