Villa Rica Man Arrested in Fatal Shooting During Domestic Dispute

On December 17, 2024, at approximately 12:10 a.m., deputies responded to a dispute call at 46 Windsor View Lane in Villa Rica, Georgia. Upon arrival, deputies found a body on the ground near the roadway and numerous individuals at the scene.

Investigators determined that a domestic dispute had occurred earlier between a female resident and her husband, Rick Joseph Reed, of Villa Rica. A male friend of the female resident, identified as Abraham Suarez Santiago, later arrived at the residence and became involved in an altercation with Reed.

Authorities allege that Reed shot Santiago near the roadway, where he succumbed to his injuries. Detectives from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are investigating the incident.

Rick Joseph Reed, 47, was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. He is charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.
