The Macon City Auditorium was alive with energy on Saturday, December 14, as hundreds of attendees laced up their best sneakers for the 3rd Annual Mayor’s Sneaker Ball. The event brought together people from across Macon-Bibb County to celebrate the community’s achievements and raise funds for scholarships.

“The turnout this year was fantastic,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “For one night, it didn’t matter what our opinions or views were—we were all one and having a ball! I am so proud to be part of and serve this community.”

The evening raised funds for six Lester M. Miller Scholarships, awarded to high school seniors MyAsia Hancock (Northeast High), Malin Milton (Howard High), Jayvyn Thomas (Northeast High), and triplets Elizabeth, Jennifer, and Margaret Jarrard (First Presbyterian Day School).

Andrea Cooke, the event’s committee chair, praised the night as a celebration of what makes Macon-Bibb special. “We had an amazing time while also awarding scholarships to some very deserving students. It was a night to remember, and I’m so proud of our community!”

Guests enjoyed dancing to music from DJ Black Jack, DJ Uh-Oh, and Mike Clark, Jr., participated in a silent auction, and captured memories with photos.
