Columbus Woman Arrested After False Bomb Threat Evacuates Government Center
On December 9, 2024, Columbus 911 received a call from a woman claiming there was an explosive device inside the Columbus Consolidated Government Center, set to detonate. In response, the building was immediately evacuated, and a thorough sweep was conducted by the Columbus Hazardous Device Response Team and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team.
After ensuring the building was clear of any threats, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit launched an investigation. Within a short period, they identified 52-year-old Regina Ingram as the individual responsible for making the bomb threat. Ingram was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Muscogee County Jail.
She faces two felony charges of Terroristic Threats or Acts and a felony violation of probation. The investigation is ongoing.
