Columbus Man Arrested for Kidnapping Girlfriend and Her Teenage Son
On November 25, 2024, the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, working with Patrol Services, resolved an active kidnapping investigation that began after an altercation at a residence in the 1200 block of Alta Vista Road.
The incident involved a domestic dispute where Raheem Conley allegedly forcefully removed his girlfriend and her teenage son from their home. The woman managed to escape and alert authorities, but her son remained in Conley’s custody.
Thanks to swift action and coordination by the Violent Crimes Unit and Patrol Services, Conley was apprehended, and the teenager was safely reunited with his mother.
Raheem Conley faces multiple charges, including:
- Theft by Taking Motor Vehicle
- Battery (Family Violence)
- Kidnapping
- Kidnapping (Family Violence)
- Terroristic Threats (Family Violence)
- Cruelty to Children in the 1st Degree
Additionally, Conley’s arrest cleared four outstanding warrants:
- Aggravated Assault (Felony)
- Theft by Taking (Felony)
- Battery (Family Violence) (Misdemeanor)
- Criminal Trespassing (Misdemeanor)
