Atlanta Police Search for Suspect Following Shootout at Blandtown Apartment

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, at approximately 10:22 p.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to a weapons-related dispute at an apartment located at 1023 Huff Rd in the Blandtown neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect armed with a firearm. The suspect discharged his weapon in the direction of officers, prompting them to return fire. A female who was inside the apartment with the suspect was safely extracted and relocated by officers during the incident.

A perimeter was established around the scene, and the SWAT team was called in to assist. SWAT successfully cleared the apartment; however, the male suspect was no longer present when the scene was secured.

No injuries have been reported at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are actively searching for the suspect.
