Duluth Reports Significant Decrease in Crime Rates for 2024

From January to October 2024, the City of Duluth experienced a dramatic reduction in crime, with burglaries down 56%, robberies decreasing by 57%, and stolen vehicles dropping 52% compared to the same period in 2023.

City officials attribute the decline to the efforts of dedicated officers, innovative initiatives like the Public Safety Ambassadors program, and advanced tools such as the Real-Time Crime Center.

“Keeping Duluth safe is a team effort, and I am thankful we have so many hard-working employees and so many engaged and supportive people here in our great City,” said Chief Carruth.
