Wadley Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges After 10-Month Investigation
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested Verdree Cunningham III, 34, of Wadley, Georgia, on multiple drug charges following a 10-month investigation targeting drug distribution and gang activity in Central Georgia.
Cunningham faces charges of Cocaine Distribution (3 counts), Use of a Communication Device to Commit a Felony, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Trafficking Cocaine.
Joint Investigation and Arrest
The investigation was conducted by the GBI’s Middle Georgia Gang Task Force (MGGTF), Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS), Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and the GBI Regional Investigative Field Office in Thomson.
On Friday, November 15, 2024, Cunningham was taken into custody by the GBI MGGTF and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities also executed a search warrant at his home in Wadley.
Evidence Seized
During the search of Cunningham’s home and a nearby wooded area, agents recovered:
- Approximately 84 grams of suspected crack cocaine
- Approximately 1.8 kilograms of suspected powder cocaine
- Approximately 25 pounds of suspected marijuana
- Two firearms
The investigation, involving multiple law enforcement agencies, aims to curb drug distribution and gang activity in Central Georgia, fostering safer communities for residents.
Cunningham remains in custody, and further developments may follow as the investigation continues.
