76-Year-Old Woman in Critical Condition After Train Strikes SUV in Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic collision involving a train and an SUV that occurred on Tucker Road near Forsyth Road in Macon. The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 2:35 p.m. on Friday, November 15.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle had been struck by a train. Witnesses at the scene reported that the train crossing gate came down on the vehicle, trapping the 76-year-old female driver. Unable to move the vehicle out of the train’s path, the car was struck by the approaching train.

The motorist was transported to a medical facility and is currently listed in critical condition. The collision remains under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
