Lavonia Police Department Solves Fraud Case, Arrests Atlanta Man

The Lavonia Police Department, in collaboration with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), has made a significant breakthrough in a fraud case initially reported in December 2023. Investigator Brian Neal, with assistance from the GBI, identified Emmanuel Olakunle Oguntoye of Atlanta, Georgia, as the primary suspect in the ongoing investigation.

Chief Shane Edmisten commended the successful cooperation between agencies, highlighting Investigator Neal’s persistence in bringing the case to a close. “This is a great example of law enforcement working together to bring justice to our community,” Chief Edmisten said.
