Early on November 1, 2024, deputies responded to reports of suspicious activity in University Heights in Lumpkin County, where males dressed in all black were reportedly pulling on car door handles. Upon arrival, deputies spotted a silver Hyundai passenger car on Morrison Moore Road and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit until the Hyundai crashed on Town Creek Church Road. All occupants fled the scene.

Around 7:30 a.m., a Toyota 4-Runner was reported stolen from Garnet School Road, and the suspects again evaded law enforcement. When deputies returned to the area near Town Creek Church Road and Garnet School Road, they encountered Christian Sieverding, 18, of Martin, Georgia, who was identified as one of the Hyundai occupants. Sieverding is now in custody, and authorities are pursuing warrants for two other males involved.

As of this report, over 20 vehicles were reported broken into between the night of October 31 and the morning of November 1.
