Macon Man Arrested for Shooting and Arson in Violent Neighborhood Rampage
A Macon man was arrested on Northridge Drive after allegedly shooting at vehicles and setting them on fire in a violent outburst. According to Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies, officers responded to a domestic dispute involving a man with a gun.
When they arrived, they located the suspect at a neighbor’s home, where several vehicles had been set on fire. One neighbor’s vehicles were heavily damaged, including a 2023 Nissan Rogue, a 2010 Mercedes-Benz, and a 2015 Mercedes-Benz. A second neighbor also reported similar damage, with multiple vehicles, including a 2016 Mercedes-Benz and a 2018 Nissan Rogue, set on fire. A third homeowner discovered bullet holes in their vehicles and home.
Deputies took the suspect into custody and recovered a rifle at the scene. The suspect is facing multiple charges, including simple battery-family violence, four counts of arson, two counts of aggravated assault, and criminal damage to property. Additional charges are expected.
The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fires, which caused significant damage to the vehicles involved.
