Brian Greene

Brian Greene was convicted on October 24, 2024, following a four-day jury trial for the 2022 homicides of two men killed in separate random shootings just days apart. The 25-year-old Greene was found guilty of the shooting deaths of Glenn Eugene Stevens on March 23, 2022, and Elijah Rasheed eight days later.

During the trial, Senior Assistant District Attorney Michael Parrish, along with Assistant District Attorney Thomas Williams and Mercer University School of Law Third Year Law Clerk Lauren Brock, presented evidence that Greene targeted both victims, who were strangers to him. In the first incident, Stevens was on a date, listening to music in a car at an apartment complex on Northside Drive when Greene approached the couple, attempting to rob them at gunpoint. Stevens resisted, and during the struggle, Greene shot him three times, resulting in Stevens’ death. The female passenger called 911 and attempted to perform chest compressions on Stevens; she later testified as a key witness during the trial.

In the second incident on March 31, 2022, Rasheed was at a Family Dollar on Napier Avenue with friends when they were targeted by Greene. Surveillance footage captured Greene lifting a firearm and firing a single shot at the car, which struck Rasheed as he was a passenger. His friends rushed him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Investigators believe Greene may have targeted Rasheed and his friends due to their membership in the LGBTQ+ community.

Greene was convicted not only of two counts of murder but also of aggravated assault against the other victims and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Sentencing for these crimes will occur at a later date.

District Attorney Anita Howard emphasized the importance of community cooperation in addressing such violent acts, stating that no one should have to endure fear and trauma due to senseless killings. The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office expressed gratitude to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation and support in prosecuting the case.
