Wanted Fugitive Arrested in Connection with School Bus Shooting in Muscogee County
On October 29, 2024, a coordinated operation involving the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit, Columbus Police Department, U.S. Marshals Service, and the FBI led to the arrest of fugitive and validated gang member Ricardo Samayoa. Samayoa was wanted in connection with a shooting earlier this year that involved a school bus with students on Cusseta Road.
In addition to this incident, Samayoa was sought by multiple agencies across two states for various violent felony charges. Taken into custody without incident, Samayoa was transported to the Muscogee County Jail, facing multiple charges including:
- Felony Aggravated Assault (12 Counts)
- Felony Criminal Damage to Property (2nd Degree, 2 Counts)
- Felony Armed Robbery by Firearm
- Felony Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony
- Felony Grand Theft
- Felony Violation of Probation (2 Counts)
The case remains under investigation, and Samayoa may face further felony and misdemeanor charges.
