Man Stabs Woman in Dalton Store, Then Turns Knife on Himself After Police Intervention
Two people sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital following a stabbing incident on Friday, October 5, at Rose’s discount store on 1205 Glenwood Avenue in Dalton. The incident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. when Terry Lee Chamlee, 67, of 135 Dawn Drive in Calhoun, reportedly attacked a woman inside the store.
According to preliminary information, Chamlee and the victim were acquainted. Chamlee allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times inside the store before fleeing on foot. Responding to the scene, a Dalton Police Department officer confronted Chamlee in the parking lot next to the Kroger gas station. Chamlee then reportedly turned the knife on himself, stabbing himself in the chest before collapsing.
Both Chamlee and the victim were taken from the scene by ambulance. The Dalton Police Department is actively investigating the case.
