Man Charged with Murder After Missing Woman’s Remains Found in Habersham County
GBI agents and investigators from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office have discovered human remains believed to belong to 25-year-old Minelys Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez, a resident of Cornelia, Georgia. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources assisted in the recovery efforts.
Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanches, 24, also from Cornelia, faces a murder charge in connection to Rodriguez-Ramirez’s death. Rivera-Sanches was initially arrested in Atlanta on October 28, 2024, by GBI agents on kidnapping charges linked to Rodriguez-Ramirez’s disappearance. He was subsequently transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.
Rodriguez-Ramirez was reported missing by family members on October 23, 2024, after last being seen on October 22. On October 25, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office enlisted the assistance of the GBI to aid in the investigation.
The remains have been sent to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
