Towns County Man Arrested for Aggravated Sexual Battery of a 16-Year-Old

On Sunday, October 20th, Towns County Sheriff’s Office received a report of aggravated sexual battery. The victim was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile.

An investigation was opened, and with the assistance of Union County Sheriff’s Office, revealed she had been sexually assaulted by Dwight Lamont Holland, age 36, at a residence in Towns County. Probable cause was developed, and the suspect was arrested by Murphy NC Police Department.

During an interview of Holland by a Towns County Investigator, he confessed to the crime. As a result, Holland was arrested and charged with Felony Aggravated Sexual Battery and Felony Aggravated Sodomy. He is currently being held without bond in the Towns County Detention Center.
