Columbus Police Seek Suspect in 12th Street Stabbing, Victim in Critical Condition

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Columbus Police responded to a reported stabbing at Ralston Tower on the 200 block of 12th Street. Officers arrived to find a male victim with a stab wound, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, after which he was flown to an Atlanta hospital for further treatment.

The Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation and has identified 57-year-old Jerry Allen as the suspect in the stabbing. A warrant for Aggravated Assault has been issued for Allen, who is described as homeless and known to frequent the downtown Columbus area and Phenix City. Authorities believe he does not have access to a vehicle.
