Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on I-75/85 Southbound Expressway

On October 25, 2024, at approximately 5:13 a.m., officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on the I-75/85 Southbound Expressway. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive female who appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. The Highway Emergency Response Operations (HERO) team assisted by closing lanes of traffic, along with two responding Atlanta Police Department (APD) units.

Authorities confirmed that the female was struck and has since been pronounced deceased. The suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and remains active.
