Atlanta Police Investigate Fatal I-20 Crash After Vehicle Rolls and Ejects Passenger

On October 24, 2024, at approximately 2:01 a.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to a fatal single-vehicle accident on I-20 Eastbound near Windsor Street. Officers arrived to find one male passenger deceased on the scene. Initial investigation suggests a Black Hyundai Sonata was traveling east on I-20 near the I-75/85 Expressway exit when it veered off the roadway, entered the grassy median, struck a light pole and guardrail, rolled multiple times, and landed upside down on the Windsor Street ramp.

During the crash, one male passenger was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene. The driver and two additional passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Grady Hospital. The Accident Investigations Unit is examining the incident to determine the cause, and the investigation remains ongoing.
