Two Injured in Domestic-Related Shooting at Sand Bar in Towns County
On Friday night, October 11, 2024, two people were injured in a domestic-related shooting at the Sand Bar on Hwy. 76. Towns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene shortly after 11 p.m., where deputies discovered two males who had both been shot.
An investigation revealed that a confrontation occurred inside a vehicle in the Sand Bar parking lot after one individual approached the car with a handgun. Both individuals were transported to North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries and are reported to be in stable condition.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Towns County Sheriff’s Office in this active and ongoing investigation.
