Three Suspects Arrested in Connection to Lumpkin Homicide Investigation

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged three individuals in connection with the death of Tevin Wright, 31, of Lumpkin, GA.

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, GBI agents and the Lumpkin Police Department arrested a 16-year-old from Lumpkin, GA, charging the juvenile with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder. The following day, on September 20, 2024, 17-year-old Quantavius Cooper of Richland, GA, was also arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder. Most recently, on October 10, 2024, 19-year-old Zanquez Davis of Lumpkin, GA, was arrested by the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office and similarly charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder.

Cooper and Davis are currently being held at the Stewart County Jail, while the 16-year-old is detained at the Columbus Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC).

The GBI expressed gratitude to the community for providing critical information during the investigation and thanked local law enforcement agencies for their assistance, including the Lumpkin Police Department, Richland Police Department, and Stewart County Sheriff’s Office.

The case began on September 11, 2024, when Lumpkin Police discovered Wright deceased in his vehicle on Cotton Street after responding to a car accident. Wright had suffered gunshot wounds.
