Shots Fired at Douglas County High School Pep Rally, Suspect at Large

On October 11, 2024, at 11:19 a.m., Douglasville Police officers were dispatched to Douglas County High School following reports of gunshots fired on campus. At the time, a pep rally was taking place inside the gymnasium. In the gym’s parking lot, a fight broke out involving individuals believed to be associated with artists invited to perform at the event.

Douglas County School police officers responded immediately to separate the parties involved. During the altercation, a suspect fired three shots into the air from inside his vehicle, creating confusion and allowing him to flee the scene before additional officers arrived.

The investigation was initially led by the Douglas County School Police but was later turned over to the Douglasville Police Department. Investigators are now actively pursuing leads, conducting interviews, and using various forms of technology to identify those involved. The suspect, along with others connected to the artists who performed at Douglas County and New Manchester High Schools, remains at large.
