Three Arrested in Homicide Investigation in Lumpkin, GA
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested three individuals in connection with the death of Tevin Wright, who was found deceased in his vehicle with gunshot wounds.
On Thursday, September 19, 2024, a 16-year-old from Lumpkin, GA, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder. The following day, on September 20, 2024, Quantavius Cooper, 17, of Richland, GA, was also taken into custody and charged with the same offenses.
Most recently, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Zanquez Davis, 19, of Lumpkin, GA, was arrested by the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office. Davis faces charges of Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder as well.
Cooper and Davis have been booked into the Stewart County Jail, while the 16-year-old is being held at the Columbus Regional Youth Detention Center.
The GBI expressed gratitude to the community for providing vital information that contributed to these arrests. They also thanked the Lumpkin Police Department, Richland Police Department, and Stewart County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
The investigation was initiated at the request of the Lumpkin Police Department after officers discovered Wright’s body in his vehicle on Cotton Street in Lumpkin on September 11, 2024.
