Atlanta Man Arrested in Connection with July 4th Homicide, Charged with Murder and Rape

On October 6, 2024, Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers arrested 38-year-old Demitrus Davis, who had outstanding warrants related to a homicide that occurred on July 4, 2024, at 2179 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW.

Davis has been charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of a Felony, Rape, and Sodomy.

On the day of the incident, officers responded to a report of an unresponsive person at the address around 11:38 AM. Upon arrival, they found a female victim with an apparent life-threatening wound after being stabbed in the chest. The victim was identified as 63-year-old Annette D. Santos.

Santos was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at the scene.
