Columbus Woman Shot at After Store Argument, Police Issue Warrants for Suspect

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to a shooting in the 500 block of 5th Avenue. Upon arrival, the victim reported she had been involved in an argument at a nearby store before a Black male followed her in a vehicle and fired shots at her.

The Violent Crimes Unit took charge of the investigation and identified the suspect as 37-year-old Marquale Brown. Warrants have been issued for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Authorities urge anyone with information on Brown’s whereabouts to call 911 or contact Cpl. K. Baldwin at 706-225-4337. Tips can remain anonymous.
