Three Fugitives Apprehended in Connection with Murder of 15-Year-Old in Columbus, Georgia
On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, a collaborative operation led by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit and the Columbus Georgia Police Department resulted in the successful apprehension of three wanted fugitives linked to the recent murder of 15-year-old Earkavion Lee. Lee was shot and killed shortly after exiting his school bus in Columbus, Georgia.
Assisting in the operation were members of the South East Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF), the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. All three fugitives were taken into custody without incident and have been identified as follows:
- Demetrius Miles
- Charges: Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
- Gregory Nelson
- Charges: Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
- Marquis Roberts
- Charges: Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
The suspects have been turned over to the Columbus Police Department. The case remains under investigation, with gratitude extended to the Columbus Police Department and the Muscogee County School District Police Department for their efforts in resolving this tragic incident.
